Irritated with SD12s behavior Part 2
I told her it was unacceptable that she was a liar and that it was trashy to go out with yet ANOTHER of her friend's recently ex-boyfriends. Her father told her she is no longer aloud to have "middle school 'boyfriends' at school or in any way". SHe never been on a "date" or anything, they just say bf/gf at school. This boy was kissing her BFF two weeks ago and her parents made her break up with him for sneaking off to the park to meet and kiss him (and the BFFs dad drove by and caught her).
I told her in no uncertain terms she was NOT allowed to 'date' this boy.

Irritated with SD12s behavior
I found out today that my SD12 is "dating" a boy we told her she is not allowed to "date". Her BFFs ex, whom BFF just broke up with two weeks ago because her parents caught her sneaking out to meet him at the corner park and making out with him.... I talked with her extensively about the ramifications of this and forbade her from Skyping this boy or "in-school dating" him. Yep, the BFF reacted exactly like I told stupid SD12 that she AND the other friends would react.

3rd trimester and hating Due date and that he has a kid
Ok. I do love my stepdaughter. This is nothing to do with her as a person. I am glad she is alive and all that blah blah blah bullshit.
Now, I am human and I get to have feelings too.
I am do ON HER BIRTHDAY. Exactly. I fucking HATE THAT. I despise it, in fact. I overheard one man commenting on "that must be your favorite/lucky day of the year huh" or some fucking bullshit. I was already horrified that would be commented.
Really great update with SD; horrible with my mom
SD13 (my daughter, whom I am raising and going to adopt when I save up the money): So, SD has jumped in the past week and has gone above and beyond what you would expect from a 13-year-old as far as doing chores, doing some housework on my to do list without even being asked, doing it WELL, and doing it with out a single drop of attitude. :jawdrop:
She brought me a bowl of cereal (with cereal in it and not full of milk) and a glass of milk with it, she has packed her own lunch and has made her own breakfast every morning, eggs, toast, cereal.

Seriously.
So, my 13-year-old girl finally makes herself a bowl of cereal all by herself today. This is because I told her last night I would not do any late night work and would make sure to be up with her and make sure that I do that so she has breakfast and lunch.
I got up. She says "that makes her look stupid" if I had to get up to feed her a bowl of cereal and make her turkey sandwich for her for lunch..(I did not say it).

Frustrated.
Okay, so yes, I am raising SD. Yes, I love her. I don't need any "so the REAL colors come out Huuuuh evil SM" BS comments; got that before and it is really not helpful in the least. I can care about her and still have her get on my nerves to the Nth degree.
Okay, so now she is sneaking HOHO cakes for breakfast. I have been going back to work at night to finish reports and sleeping until 9am, she is 13, she can get herself to school. Well, she says she can't have breakfast because I don't get up and feed her. She is 13 FFS.

My Grandmother's comments make me so mad
First, I love and adore my grandmother. However. She treats parents like shit, even me. She will tell your kids that you are mean and Graaaaanny loves them and then she stuffs them so full of donuts, ice cream, and candy that they will get sick and she will tell them they are so abused and pitiful that you don't let them eat that for lunch.

Parenting habit of mine that I do NOT like
When she was little, I would always remind her of the consequences of things so she would have a warning. "remember, if you hang on that towel hanger that you are holding onto right now again and it breaks, you will be in time out".

Tired of tween sneaking and monitoring her crap
I really am. I'm so tired of it. The rules are not that bad, but she breaks them so badly that finally we take the phone at 9pm every night curfew (for sneaking texting late on school nights). She texts when with grandparents completely disrespectful to the point that they call me about her, grounded, and guess what, she did it again. So, she had a friend over all weekend, and I STILL took her phone when I saw it on the online website (Damn straight). Guess what she does? She takes her friend's phone and texts all night on it!

Closely monitored tween and tween stuff
So I monitor my kid's internet activity and facebook very closely. I even read through a couple of the messages occasionally checking in on her. When she is 18+, I will not check through her room or her phone or her facebook, but until she is at least 16, I check everything. I am glad I do too, because I have caught a couple things that were dangerous (talking to a "new boy to town" that talked like a grown man and was really sketchy- which I confronted her about, and she knows I looked in her facebook and read those messages and WHY).
