Yes, we survived the weekend in KY. It was a good time... all except the drive home, the 6 ft snakes, the shitty cottages, and DH slapping SD in the mouth for back talking for the 1,000th time! It took 14 hours home because DH refuses to drive main highways! Stuck in the truck with 3 kids and DH for 14 hours!!!!! Other then that it was great and SD was very well behaved, other than the back talking, which stopped immediatley after getting her mouth slapped... imagine that!

I will be flying next time.

So after last weekends birthday fiasco, I am wondering if SD will be coming with us or if she will be throwing a fit come tomorrow afternoon when DH is to go get her. We are going to Mammoth Cave KY this weekend with my sister and her 4 boys, and my mom. We are also meeting my Aunt and Uncle from Alabama down there. They have never gotten to see my two girls yet due to the distance. They also haven't met SD or DH, so I am excited! I just hope SD is in a good mood for the weekend and doesn't bring her "everything makes me pout" attitude.

I worked my butt off all week last week to get ready for SD's 8th birthday party. Now before you all judge me, I love being able to do this for her... at least I used to. I did everything that she wanted. Made homemade mini Barbie cakes for all of her friends to decorate. Ordered a big cake for everyone else. Got all of the brightest neon colored EVERYTHING that I could find. Made the food she wanted, etc.

So my DH being the loving, caring, GULLIBLE father that he is, trusted SD when she said that she did well on her spelling test and that she didn't have any work for the weekend. So Sunday morning he decides to go ahead and check. This is after a whole weekend of SD playing and having a grand ole time. What does he find... a failed spelling test, a failed math test, and a note from the teacher that says (yet again) that SD just doesn't even TRY and pay attention anymore, that she just doesn't care. DH was PISSED!
