Never thought I would say this ..... I like Dr Phil ....... Today's topic ...... Paternity Fraud

Today Dr. Phil's show was on Paternity Fraud.

Very interesting.

My thoughts: Women who "knowingly" saddle a man with someone else's child are guilty of fraud, should be imprisoned for 3yrs for each year that they extort money from the victim dad, forced to pay full restitution to the man they extorted money from including penalties and interest, loose custody to the man who has acted as the child's father and be prevented from all future interface with the child except at the discretion of the defrauded father.

Skid USAF Update: Got a call on Sat.

Our son called Sat afternoon. He sounded great. Very upbeat and energetic. He has received and enjoyed the letters that his mom and I as well as my parents wrote him.

Apparently DIs are very accomplished at getting in peoples faces and yelling. As my son said "Yes dad, they are much better at it than you are.". :?
He has been "drafted" to be in the Basic Training band though he does not seem too happy about that part of his basic experience.

He only had 5mins and he did most of the talking.

Lookin' good so far.

Best regards,

I forgot a Skid quote from this AM.

My wife told him after the swearing in ceremony that she was proud of him.

He responded .... "Mom, I haven't done anything yet". :jawdrop:

Another jawdropping moment from my Skid. :O

I am so used to seeing him bask in the everyone gets a trophy praise for breathing that schools pump out these days that his comment actually surprised me.

Maybe he learned something of what his mom and I have been trying to engrain in him after all.

Time will tell.

Leave already!

The Skid swore in at 12:00 today. The recruits all spent the night in a hotel last night and were bused to MEPS at 04:00 to start their in-processing. 9 who processed through MEPS this AM for the USAF will all go to basic together.

Another kid has the same AFSC :? as my kid so they will be in basic and tech school together. That should be good for both of them.

We are officially empty nester DINKs.

The kid climbed in the cab for his hotel at 5:06 PM. We had an extra hour with him in the recruiter's office. It was enjoyable to spend an hour with a young recruiter, our son and four other young people.

Listening to their comments and plans for the future. Maybe, just maybe, our country is not as screwed as I fear that it is.

The recruiter ~25 just finished his 5th year in the service, is finishing up his bachelor's degree in marketing, is planning on staying in until he hits 20yrs, then retire and go private sector. I am very impressed with this young man.

Heading home to spend a few hours with the kid before we drop him off at the recruiters to start his USAF adventure.

I had some early AM meetings and am now leaving the office to go hang with the kid.

16:00 we drop him off at the recruiters, they take him to a hotel, wake up at 03:00 tomorrow, off to MEPS for his final start up stuff then off to San Antonio for BMT for 8.5 weeks then it is off to MO for tech school.

6 days until the Skid leaves for Basic Training ..... and mom is in to turbo warp last minute parenting mode.

6 days and the Kid leaves for USAF BMT.

My wife is getting very fidgety. She is dumping car maintenance guidance, choose your friends wisely guidance, speak up when you are talking guidance, do the job well and finish the job guidance, etc on the kid at a constant high speed.

I am backing off. If I did not back off I would just kill him. He still will not do basic chores. There is always some bullshit excuse about why his chores are not done or for why he did not do what he was told to do.
