So, some of you know that DH and I have been having problems with SD and her treatment for depression and ADHD. She has been refusing to take her medication, at first saying she just forgot, then finally coming out and saying that she was purposefully not taking them. Her behavior issues got terribly bad and she became very irrational and paranoid. We talked to her psychologist about it at a recent appointment and came up with yet another strategy for getting SD to take her meds. DH is supposed to be giving them to her and watching her take them every morning. That lasted 3 days.

Today SD14 calls me from school at 10 after 3 to ask if she can go hang out at the mall with her friends. The bus has already come and gone and she knows that this is not something that DH and I would normally let her do last minute. She has no cell phone with her, she is calling me from the school office. I am at home, both my little ones are in bed napping, and I am in the middle of a mountain of homework. I am extremely irritated by all of this and tell her absolutely not and that I will be there immediately to pick her up.

My DH pretty much told me that last night in different words. He says I totally disregard the things he says he wants and needs from me and that he goes out of his way to do everything for me and I am completely unappreciative. This pretty much tells me he thinks I am a failure as a wife. We have this arguement all the time....at least once a month. He says we get in this "rut". He always sees it before I do, that is what happened this time. We had a great time last week in England. We had a good weekend at home. By Thursday he is feeling like we are in a rut.

So, we took a week long trip to England for spring break to see some friends that are getting ready to move back to the states. I was looking forward to it and dreading it all at the same time. My main fear was the SD would be an enormous pain in the ass. I was so wonderfully impressed with her this past week! She was wonderful! She helped with the kids and never once complained. I did get some attitude from her a few times, but that comes with the territory of having a 14 year old girl around. We had such a fantastic time and I can't wait to go again.
