What should I do?

stepmom92's picture

Hi! So I have 2 stepkids, ages 5 and 8. My stepson (5) wanted to do a tiktok video with me and so I did with him. Should I ask my stepdaughter (8) if she wants to do one also since I did with him? She is at school and I only see her on the weekends. Or should I not ask and wait until she does? I know there is a big age difference between 5 and 8. The only reason why I did with my stepson is because he asked me if I wanted to.

isn't supposed to be for anyone under 13...

Also, if you chose to do tik tok videos then I would wait for your step daughter to ask you to do one with you. If she wants to, she will probably ask. I think this is something you shouldn't be worrying about.

I just don't want her to feel excluded. But I know each of them have their own personality and things they like to do.

They are 5 and 8? Don't be part of encouraging this obsession Sad take them to parks or woods whatever, and ditch the media

You don't even have to click them anymore.  All you have to do is read the title and you know.

While I appreciate people still trying with OP (in their various incarnations).... I think we should be over it by now.

How does your husband feel about you allowing his son on to social media? Maybe that's the first question to answer. In fact, I'd say you should have asked him first before blindly doing a video with a 6 yo just because he wants to.

OP

IF you believe your step child is going to feel left out, why are you asking us?
