And it starts with the clothes already

doll faced sm's picture

Lately, I've seen quite a bit of discussion on BMs packing too small, dirty, inadequate, etc. clothes for the skids. FDH picked up FSS from BM today and, lo and behold, she packed him one pair of shorts, one shirt, and like five pair of pants. No underwear, no socks, not to mention that FDH told me it's been 90+ degrees there since he's been there - and BM packs him pants?! FDH also specifically told her he'd like to take FSS swimming, could she please pack a pair of swim trunks. BM's answer, "We don't go swimming, so he doesn't have any." Really? In GA, you don't go swimming? Whatever.

Until the 20th!?!?!?!!?

So, I've been bit(hing a bit lately about my mother's impending visit, the ticket debaucle, and our totally crap finances. What I have not said is that FDH, during this whole ordeal, has been completely pi$$y about the whole thing. His main issue being the expected length of her stay vs. our finances, which is totally understandable, and we're both a lot more comfortable with the current 15 day stay she's planning.

Talk with Dad . . . and Mom

Today is my dad's birthday, so called him up to wish him happy birthday. He's funny because he can talk your ear off. I'm not a phone person at all; I see the phone as a necessary evil, for the most part. I wonder where I got that from because it obviously wasn't my mom or dad. Anyway, we talked for over 3 hours about pretty much everything: my mom, my ss, my late sm, how much he hates all three of them, how he now wants to be cremated, about why it's never wise to mix finances in any relationship, and on and on. Really, even though I don't like the phone, I do enjoy this conversation.

Court and Summer School

Today my FDH left to go to GA for court and will be back next Monday. Custody and child support modification on June 2nd. To recap: FDH's XW's mom is a retired judge in a small county. Add to that the fact that his chain of command thought the SCRA applied to all legal issues and thus would not allow him time off to go to court. XW got *everything* she asked for.

O/T: Quit jerking us around already!!!!!!

So FDH goes into the hospital today to pre-register or whatever for his surgery that's supposed to be on Monday. Registration has no information for him, so send him up to the GI clinic to figure out what's going on. Turns out the surgeon who is supposed to perform his surgery won't even be in town; in fact he's flying out *that* morning at 1 am! However, between the time when his surgery got moved up yesterday and then cancelled today, the original June 6th date is no longer an option - the ER for that date/time has already been re-scheduled for someone else. Freakin' seriously!!!!!!!!

O/T: Surgery moved up

FDH went in for another apt. today and has apparently lost another 10 lb.s. As a result, his surgery which was scheduled for 6/6 has been moved up . . . to this Monday. Now, as opposed to still being in a state of recovery when the baby comes, he'll still be in a state of recovery (read: hopped up on pain killers) while he's in a court room, standing in front of a judge, trying to convince said judge that he should have joint custody of FSS and that child support should be lowered. Eiyeiyeiy . . .

Coming up

So, June is looking to be very eventful for my family and me. It's kinda overwhelming, really, to even think about it, but here's the run-down thus far:

New here.

I started thinking a few weeks back about my upcoming marriage, the FSS5, the upcoming baby and decided I might want to find a group of people who've been there, done that. So here I am, and I'm not sure exactly where to start.
I've been lurking here a little while, and have become familiar with some of your stories (though, assigning names to stories may take a while since many of them are very similar).
I don't have the same issues as many of you.
