An Extra $200/mo to Pay for BM's Out of Pocket Expenses? Um, no.

So after BM and FDH's argument, go figure he received another letter from her lawyer.

Her statement claims that she needs an extra $200/month from FDH to cover the out-of-pocket expenses she paid for the first phase of FSD's braces. Her statement claims that she asked FDH to pay his half, and he refused--hence her seeking action from the court.

Can there be a truce?

FDH asked me if he thought he could just call a truce with BM. What do you think?

I knew the fight with BM would leave him upset for a while. I guess he was thinking a lot about it yesterday, and it weighed heavily on him that they still have at least another 14 years to go. That's quite a while. He doesn't want to fight the whole time. He said we're happy with our life, she seems happy with her life, why can't we just live our lives and take care of the kids without being so aggressive?

Whaa, A Compliment???

Yesterday one of my coworkers was talking to me about her garden (we both garden), and she said, "Oh your string beans should be about ready, you can pick them tonight!" I told her that I was going to hold off until the weekend because we have the kids and they like to pick things from the garden for dinner.

Then she said, "You're such a good stepmom." I was a little flabbergasted. No one has ever called me that directly I guess, and it caught me off guard. Furthermore, she said it so POSITIVELY. Holy moly. It wasn't at all sarcastic in tone; she was dead serious.

O/T: BF, Mom, and New Orleans

Due to a series of unfortunate events, BF and I ended up on our vacation with my mom. Yup, just the three of us. In New Orleans. I'm sure you can imagine how lovely that was.

Look, I love my mother. Unfortunately, we have never ever traveled well together. She is a tourist with a capital T. I prefer to be less conspicuous. I prefer not to take picture of every road sign and carry a map in front of my face while walking. I get lost a lot, but I enjoy it.

O/T: Meds and Wisdom Teeth Out

Friday I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. It sucked, as expected, but no worse than that.

FDH had to work pretty far away and then pick up the kids on Friday, so my mother took me to the oral surgeon. I spent the night at my mother's house because I didn't want to move, let alone drive. I did drive the hour and a half back home Saturday morning, though I realized half-way through the drive that the meds were making me really sick.
