It's Been One Week...

lieutenant_dad's picture

Since her car broke down.

Called DH, asking for a hand out.

Five days since the first update,

Saying it was more broke than they could anticipate.

Three days of complete silence,

Still wasn't fixed, but there's nothing that we can do.

Yesterday, she just called DH,

Said it'll still be two days and she's really sorry.

Sing along, folks, to the tune of Barenaked Ladies' "One Week"!

BM's car is still broken. YSS is still with us. BM apparently has a new job. Same thing, different year.

One Down, One to Go (And One that will NEVER Grow Up)

Well, OSS is moved into college. He got his license just before heading off, and he is getting interviews set up for a job on campus. He wants to do well, and he is itching for that freedom. He apparently had enough credits that he is technically a sophomore. Combine that with having his first year entirely paid for with grants and scholarships, and I'm very proud of what he has accomplished!

NOW BM wants to help with college...

*rubs temples* Not sure why I didn't see this coming, but I didn't.

We are one week away from OSS moving to college. For those of you who have moved kids into college, especially this year through COVID, tell me what you were doing one week prior? Because I'm hoping you aren't just NOW asking the kid what they need for school.

BM making blatant moves to push out the SSs?

DH dropped the boys off at BM's last night. According to OSS, BM and her new DH have gotten rid of (or had repossessed, who's to know) the couches in the living room and replaced them with two chairs and an ottoman. They also apparently got rid of the dining room table and shoved a bunch of junk in OSS's bedroom to store, including the dining room chairs.

Lt. Dad's Fireside Chat Series: Good vs. Right Partners

Welcome back everyone. Take a seat next to the cozy fireplace. Grab a glass of wine, some popcorn, and a marshmallow to toast. Today we're going to cover good versus right partners.

When we think about the "perfect" partner, we tend to be very vague in our descriptions. We want them attractive, smart, driven, employed, good in bed, etc. We scour the earth looking for our lobster to join claws with, and when we find one - OH, it's MAGICAL!
