How long would you wait with no contact before filing for abandonment. BM was gone for 7 years, came back for about 6 months, and has now been MIA for a month again. She has every other day contact, so she has missed a lot of time. Advice please.

This has been the scariest, most exhilarating, roller coaster ride of a week.
I was admitted to the hospital Sunday for sever pre-eclampsia and induced at 36 weeks 3 days. DD was born Tuesday evening, weighting in at 6.5lbs. We have had some (thankfully minor) complications due to the length of time I was in labor and because she was so early. We are still waiting to go home.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers... LO's health, and that everyone is able to adapt and transition into our new rolls without much complication or stress.

So, BM got the packet DH filed with the court. DH also sent BM an e-mail after SD told us about her stunt for summer (see my previous blog) very calmly telling her this behavior was not acceptable.

Not a peep since. She has telephonic parenting time every other day, and she has missed the last week of calls to SD.

DH sent in paperwork to the courts today. One motion for contempt, a motion to modify the time sharing schedule, and a request for child support. As we live in HI, and FL has jurisdiction over the case, he sent in everything certified, including a copy of all the paperwork to BM.

I pray to God the court get's their copies before BM gets hers... going to enjoy the calm before the storm and wait for her to flip her lid.

Anyone know how to get jurisdiction in a case changed? SD lives with us in HI, BM lives in FL, where we moved from.
