Go visit  your parents she said. It has been too long since you have spent time with them she said. So I left LV on Tuesday the 19th after a Opthalmologist appointment on the 18th.  I left about three hours later than planned because my usual tire air pump at the preferred gas station crapped out while I was topping up my tires for the road trip.    It topped up two, and died while I was airing up the 3rd which then let nearly all of the air out of that tire.

Show this one to the kids..... A young man went to seek an important position at a large Landscaping company. He passed the initial interview and was going to meet the director for the final interview. The director saw his resume, it was excellent. And asked,'

"Have you received a scholarship for school?" The boy replied, "No".
'It was your father who paid for your studies? '' Yes.' He replied.
'Where does your father work? ' 'My father is a Farmer' and landscapes for  fun.

On the phone with DW on her drive home.

DW:  "You need to move the garbage and recycling cans before I get home. They are in my way,"

Rags:"Okay"

I walk out, the trash cans are nowhere to be seen. Usually after the trucks come (Garbage and Recycling) the cans are strewn down the street or in the middle of our drive or the driveways of one or the other of our neighbors. 

Rags: "Someone took the cans. Where did you say tthey were?"

DW: "I told you, they are in my way."

Not Step related... When the burning platform never gets extinguished.

I am heading East to visit my parents for a week or two and to go to my 40th HS reunion after my Opthalmologist appt on the 28th.

Mom has a list of yard crap she wants dad and I to do.

Ugh....

Of course... I will submit to the lawn torture.  Though I will give my mother a load of crap.

A nice anniversary weekend.

We headed to Lake Havasu for our anniversary on Saturday after our IP appointment and weigh in.  We both cut most of our Hawaii vacation food fest. 

A couple of hours drive, a nice weekend, a kiss on London Bridge on our 29th anniversary, nice meals.  We will make this a do over for a  short weekend trip going forward. Probably not in the summer though.  116*F is a bit toasty.  Not even hot based on the temps we lived in Qatar and Saudi.  But no doubt toasty.

Fortunatly that was only on Saturday.  Sun and Mon were a dozen degrees cooler.  

O/T - But crooked assed idiots piss me off.

We sold our home last month.  I informed our Lawn Service that we would no longer engage their Services after EOM June.  I left them a V-mail.

Today, I got a text from them to pay my bill. I checked PayPal...they revised a bill adding $100 for July services to the June bill.  They do not invoice consistently. I had not yet gotten a notification of the invoice.

I am a free agent.... work wise.

DW and I flew back  after a week of prep to sell our TX home late last night.  Just as I turned out the light after midnight, I got a meeting notification from my employer for this AM.

 So, I started my first, and last day of work, back from a week off, with my daily morning team leadership meeting, delegated my later 09:00 mtg, and, called into the meeting related to the late night meeting notification.

O/T Never in my life... but maybe now.

I have never quit a job without having another with a Start Date.  I have been RIFd, I have been displaced due to acquistion when my business became redundant, I have been displaced due to my busness being sold to another company. I have never been terminated for cause, nor have I ever resigned just because the situation was no longer tolerable to me.
