OT: Owning a condo/townhouse and then renting it out

zerostepdrama's picture

DH and I have been talking about investment properties for awhile. He can do any work in a house/condo, etc so we feel comfortable in that we would be able to maintain the home. My biggest concern is renters and having to deal with people who dont pay rent or damage the property.

OT: Fun Poll to clear our minds :-)

Answer as many or as few as you feel comfortable with.

Where do you shop for clothing for yourself?

What do you spend a lot of money on, that you shouldn't?

Do you use coupons for grocery shopping?

Are you a morning person?

What is your stripper name? (first pet name + street you grew up on)

Last good movie you watched?

Last concert you went to?

Pool, Ocean or Lake?

Do you read the newspaper?

Favorite dessert?

OT- I'm in a food rut. HELP!

Anyone want to share some of their favorite meals for dinner and lunch?

I'm in a food rut. Tired of coming home and having to rush to cook dinner before we have to rush off somewhere else.

I need some new easy dinner ideas Smile And lunch too, I'm in a rut there and have been eating out for lunch too much.

I spend way too much money on eating out in general.

Those of you who just want to vent and dont want advice

zerostepdrama's picture

For those of you that come to ST just to vent or badmouth the skids or BM, why is that you don’t want the help that people offer you here?
Sure the skids or BM can be awful and deserve some of the shit that is said about them. But wouldn’t a SOLUTION be better?

If you come here and vent about the same thing over and over and over, does that make you feel better as opposed to finding a solution to your problem and making a change in your life? Does venting here actually make you feel that much better and solve the issues long term?

That feeling when back child support is paid off :-)

Finally! Woot woot woot woot woot woot.

And only 2 more years until the last kid ages out. }:)

It's a good feeling to get $300+ back each month. Still sucks that DH pays $600+ for one kid, only because BM works a shitty dead end job and DH works a good job. But that is what it is so I wont focus on that.

Its not even having more money that makes me excited, its the fact that it is one less thing that ties us to BM.

ETA: $600 per month, not $500 per month

Father's Day plans

zerostepdrama's picture

So what is everyone's plans for Father's Day? Skids, bios, shared kids?

The one year (3 years ago) I planned something with the skids it was a totally mess, so I will never ever do that again. Plus I am now disengaged from the skids. (The great potato salad mess!)

Last year DH got to take out SS, his GF and YSD out. They went to McDonald's. DH and I had just came back from a country concert/camping weekend. Sad thing the skids couldnt even come up with enough money to at least treat him to McD's. So he paid for his own Father's Day lunch. :?
