Court of Honor

Last night was SS18's Court of Honor. He was recognized for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. I don't know how other troops do this ceremony but SS18's troop acknowledges each scout who has attained a new rank an that scout is called up to the stage with their parents and receives the new patch and there's a photo-op.

Today is D-Day for SS18. He has to decide if he's gong to go to Uber-Expensive College (taking out loans) or Tech School (on scholarship). DH and I are praying he chooses Tech School but the reality is BM is pushing for Uber-Expensive College.

My Skids Have Multiple Personalities

So BM calls DH raging (when the skids were with us) and asking DH to yell at the skids for stuff that has happened on her watch at her house. Apparently she was inspecting their bedrooms and found:

- SS17’s bedroom was so messy – the floor covered with clothes and stuff - she was hardly able to get his door open.
- SS17’s bedroom wall has water staining and mold on it – SS17 never mentioned it to BM.
- SS13 had moved the TV and DVD player from the basement into his bedroom.
- BM also found an open potato chip bag and box of cookies in SS13’s bed.

SS13 And His Attitude Toward Women

At conferences last week SS13's female teacher made a point of informing BM and DH that SS13 is disrespectful and rude to her and his other female teachers. SS13's male teacher said that SS13 was respectful and polite in his class. BM then chimed in that that's how SS13 treats her at home too.

Now I wasn't at conference but when I heard about this I was furious. SS13 was rude and disrespectful to me back when school started last fall. I nipped it in the bud (DH also backed me up too) and haven't had a problem since.

SS17, College & BM (long)

So we spent the weekend visiting XYZ University. SS17 has been accepted there. It’s in another state about a 6-hour drive from our city. And when I say we I mean BM, BM’s SO, SS17, SS13 and DH and I – yes my friends the whole freak show.

Of course we stayed in a different hotel and DH got us a really nice suite and we went sightseeing, ate at an expensive restaurant etc. DH turned it into a mini-break holiday for me Smile

DH has reached his limit or growing pains - LONG

This week sucked. It was one thing after another with the skids.

SS13

Last week DH finally checked SS13's grades online. Well SS13 is failing most of his classes. It was our weekend so Dh worked with SS13 all weekend and got him caught it. DH emailed the teacher to let her know SS13 would be handing in his missing assignments.

DH gets an email from the teacher Monday afternoon letting him know that SS13 said he lost the homework so nothing was turned in.

SS13 is driving me crazy. I realize 13 is just a sucky age in general but this kid is on my last nerve. If I have to here another:

FFIINNEE!

I'm going to hurt this little turd. I already told DH I'm going to go workout when he gets home (with SS13). That buys me at least 45 minutes of me-time Blum 3
