Spidey senses and automobiles

We got a car when DS got his license as a car that they all could use (since OSS was just a few months later and DH talked to BM about it being a shared car with the skids since it's in their decree they have to agree on vehicles). Back then, a few months before buying the car, I asked DH about a car in BMs driveway (I was in our car when we dropped skids off after some trip). He and the skids said it was BMs for winter driving to far away work functions. She had an SUV but wanted to drive a smaller car during the winter? That didn't make sense.

OT (sort of): Am I cold-hearted?

DS and OSS are both starting college soon. DH has said he wants to plan a road trip to go see both of them (they are not at the same college, just do it in a loop). Now XH mentioned that he wants to go see DS in about two months.

I love, love, love my DS with my heart and soul. I will definitely miss him. I get a little weepy here and there; mostly I'm excited for him. I'm sure I will notice the void more after he is actually at school.

Update: Things that make you go "hmmm"

Synopsis: DS and OSS got the same bags of school/office supplies and DH found a lighter in OSSs bag. Makes you wonder why it's in there.

Update: I asked DS about his bag of stuff since we were talking graduation. Yes, he also got a lighter in his bag, too! I must not have seen it when my mom was showing me what she got them. I asked DS where his was and he said he threw it away since he thought it was a mistake it was in there. Now DH and I are wondering what possessed my mom to give them each a lighter. Gonna be asking her.

A relative got OSS and DS a bunch of school supplies two months ago for graduation. Same gift bag, same set of stuff. I looked through it when they were handed to me because relative was excited and wanted me to see.

Today DH is in OSSs room and going through the bag to pack up some college crap. He asks me why my relative would get them a lighter. I said the relative did not get them lighters. He knows this person and he knows that’s true, it’s why he was confused as to that particular person giving the boys lighters as a gift.

O/T How kids handle the transition to college

DS is leaving for college in under two weeks. I’m trying not to panic that we don’t have everything he needs and have figured out packing and cars. But that’s just me. I am a planner and pre-planner and pre-pre-planner. I’m not hyper focused on that because I’m avoiding thinking about my feelings. I know I will miss DS but moreso I am so excited for him. I loved college and going off on my own. This is going to be a great adventure for him.

DH mentioned OSS for the first time

in about a month. He said he wanted to see if we all can go out to eat soon before DS and OSS are off to college. I said that would be nice.

He made some other comment about OSS never coming around and being too busy every time DH asks. Or something like that. It was an Eeyore kind of comment and I have successfully disengaged to the point it barely registers.

O/T Shingles vaccine sucks!

Just got my second shot late last week (it’s two shots separated by 2-3 months). First one wasn’t too bad. Sore arm. Slight headache.

This one?! OMG. It’s felt like I’ve had a horrible hangover for three days but without the fun night before. The headache was so bad it hurt to wash my hair. Super nauseated. Dizzy. Arm was so sore. Nothing knocked out the headache and I even tried my migraine meds. It’s finally abating now

Drugs, any drugs, affect me more than the normal person. If that’s you, too, then be careful with this vaccine.
