SS13 arrives tomorrow for 4 consecutive weeks (the longest time we have EVER had with him in his entire 13 years). It's sad it took us this long to reach this point, but we are thankful that it finally happened. I have been extra nervous about SS coming, especially for this long, since he has been struggling at BMs. It's like Jekyll and Hyde; you never know what SS you're going to get. We spoke to SS a few times over the last week and he is SO EXCITED to visit (and we think to finally have a break from the constant extracurriculars BM has him in).
DH and I celebrate our 20th anniversary this week. It's been a ride, and not always a fun one.
DH would never post loving messages about me on Fakebook for fear of upsetting his volatile grown-ass children. Today he broke through that barrier. I kinda think their fee fees didn't cross his mind--he so rarely talks to them.
Life is a lot easier now that other people have no control over our lives.
I accompanied SD63 to a doctor appointment about a month ago where he referred her to a neurologist for shaky hands and memory lapses and to a surgeon for removal of implants from her leaky, bloody, lumpy breasts. At the time, she was waiting for results from heart tests and planning to see her orthopedist about a knee replacement since it's been giving out on her.
If anyone has followed my current situation with MIL bringing DH to court for SS8 visitation, this post is unfortunately related to that.
Its been hot sec as my daughter says...
Due to work, kids and well DH..I took a step back and focused on ME...
So...where are we at..
DH....decided to try an implode our marriage by arguing over stupid crap..and then pulling the old..."I need to protect myself from you so I'm going to record you yelling at me"...
The manipulation and roller coaster of emotions SD15 continues to cause in our household is exhausting. Two weeks ago she got into a huge argument with DH and listed basically all of the things she does not like about me, DH, and our household. Too many to list here. I think part of her did make DH feel guilty to some degree. I think DH is at his wit's end.
Greetings Steptalkers.
Without my usual preamble and dry humor that isnt funny, I have some news.
Yesterday in the am (5/19/2025) I was notified via text that a friend of mine who had asked my husband to do some work on her car for her was filing a restraining order and lawsuit against him. We went back and forth and here is the bare bones of what I know and what was said, all between myself and this woman:
- He didnt do the work he said he did, so she didnt pay him and he spent all last week badgering, harrassing and threatening her.
Hi everyone....feeling a lot of feelings these days since I reconnected with my SD, aged 28. My hubby and I have been together for 15 years, common-in-law, and I feel like I have paid for being with him since day 1. I love him, he loves me and we most certainly have weathered some storms.
I recently read an article that talked about those age old sayings that kids these days have not heard of or would have people saying it's outdated. Things like "children should be seen and not heard".. "I will give you something to cry about" etc...
Well, you know what ? as a kid who was raised with a lot of those nuggets of wisdom.. I am making a case for why moving away from these kinds of things is creating a bunch of people that are increasingly less pleasant to be around.
Here are a few of the ones that stick out for me.. feel free to weigh in on your own.
